Visitor tip
Don't miss the whimsical wood carvings by local artist Craig T. Sheldon on the second floor—they're a standout collection. After visiting, take a walk down the street to see the Story Book Castle, the house he built, for a complete appreciation of his artistic legacy.
Visitor tip
Start on the bottom floor to see the historic jail cells, which provide shocking educational perspective on prison conditions. This exhibit is particularly impactful for understanding local history and should be part of your visit plan.
Visitor tip
Plan to interact with the knowledgeable docents on staff—visitors consistently praise their expertise and ability to share detailed historical context about displays. Ask them about Fairhope's history with Organic Education and Single Tax concepts, which aren't immediately obvious from exhibits alone.
