What you should know

Best time Visit on First Friday (5-8pm) or Last Tuesday (6-8pm) evenings to see the model train layouts actively operating. Regular Saturday hours (1-5pm) are also available, but evening visits offer the best chance to watch trains in action.
Visitor tip Upcoming interactive opportunities include the ability to bring your own trains to run on the layouts during Last Tuesday events, plus workshops on trackwork, layout design, and scenery. Check their event schedule for these special sessions.
Visitor tip To see the real locomotives referenced in the museum exhibits, visit the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore or the Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke for a deeper railroad history experience.
