What you should know

Visitor tip Visit Komodo Kingdom on your way out of the San Diego Zoo rather than at the beginning - it's a small, easy-to-miss area that makes a great final stop before leaving the park
Visitor tip Speak with volunteer staff on-site for insights about the Komodo dragons and their behavior - they can enhance your understanding of these rare, endangered reptiles from Indonesia and help you appreciate what you're seeing
Visitor tip Note that dragons may not always be active or visible in their enclosures due to their care requirements, so manage expectations if visiting with young children who might find limited dragon activity less exciting

What visitors say

Get up close to some of the most dangerous reptiles in the world. Great, modern facilities for these huge lizards. A volunteer suggested visiting it on our way out of the zoo.
This is a small area with three enclosures that could easily be missed if not looking for it. Housing that largest lizards must be a chore as only 1 of the dragons was out. Not supper exciting for kids for some reasons.
Long way for the komodo to arrive to San Diego zoo. An exotic and endangered species from indonesia
